Use case · Clinics
A WhatsApp chatbot for clinics that books the visit and cuts the no-shows.
Your patients don’t fill out a form. They message “doctor kal available hai?” at night, ask the fees, ask if you do the treatment, and half of them forget the appointment. NudgeDesk answers all of it in Hinglish, holds the slot with a UPI advance, and reminds them the morning of the visit. It books and reminds. It never gives medical advice.

The specifics
Built for the questions a front desk actually gets.
Whether you run a dental clinic, a doctor’s practice, or an aesthetics studio, the WhatsApp enquiry looks the same: which doctor is free, what does it cost, do you do this procedure, and can I get an appointment. Here is how NudgeDesk handles each one, honestly, without ever pretending to be the doctor.
Appointment booking from your live schedule
When someone asks “doctor kal available hai?”, it reads which slots are open for that doctor and offers them then and there. It books the visit in chat, captures the patient’s name and number, and confirms the time. No back-and-forth, no calling during clinic hours.
Fees, timings, and procedures answered straight
Consultation charges, what an X-ray or cleaning costs, opening days, which treatments you offer, directions to the clinic: it answers from the information you give it, the same way every time. It states prices you have set and never invents a figure.
A UPI advance holds the slot, so it sticks
To reserve an appointment it sends a native in-chat UPI request for a small token advance, with the balance paid at the clinic. The gateway confirms the payment, never a screenshot. A slot with money down is a slot the patient shows up for. This is India-only; elsewhere it sends a payment link.
Reminders that cut no-shows, no medical advice
With the patient opted in, it sends a WhatsApp reminder before the visit so fewer people forget. And it stays in its lane: the moment a question turns clinical, it defers to the doctor and books the examination rather than guessing. It books and reminds, it does not diagnose.
A real exchange
Enquiry to confirmed slot, while the clinic is shut.
A patient with a toothache messages at night. A few replies later the appointment is booked, held with a ₹100 UPI advance, and a reminder is scheduled, all without the doctor’s salah being touched. Watch it play out.
- Answered in Hinglish, at the patient’s pace
- Clinical question deferred to the doctor, not answered by the bot
- UPI advance plus a reminder, the two things that beat no-shows

Why clinics keep it on
Fewer empty chairs. Less phone at the front desk.
The 11pm “doctor kal hai?” gets answered at 11pm
A patient in pain messages after hours and books a slot on the spot, instead of waiting for the clinic to open and calling the place that picked up first.
Fewer no-shows, two ways
A UPI token advance holds the slot, and a WhatsApp reminder lands the morning of the visit. Money down plus a nudge turns forgotten appointments into arrivals.
A front desk that never closes
Fees, timings, which procedures you offer, directions to the clinic: it answers the same ten questions all day so your staff attend to the patients in the chair.
Safe by design, never a medical opinion
It books and reminds. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or guess a clinical answer. Anything medical is deferred to the doctor, and sensitive chats hand off to your team.
Honest about the limits: it won’t auto-confirm a payment from a screenshot, it will not offer a diagnosis or a prescription, and on Instagram it can’t re-message a patient after 24 hours, so it moves the conversation to WhatsApp, where reminders and follow-up are allowed. Clinic questions
Straight answers, before you ask.
Can it book appointments and send reminders?
Yes. It reads your live schedule, offers the open slots for the doctor a patient asks for, books the visit, and then sends a reminder before the appointment. The reminder is the part that saves you money: most no-shows are simply people who forgot, and a WhatsApp nudge the morning of the visit brings them back.
Does it give medical advice or diagnose?
No, and that is deliberate. It handles the front-desk work: availability, fees, timings, location, which procedures the clinic offers, and the booking itself. The moment a patient asks something clinical, like whether they need a root canal or which medicine to take, it says the doctor will decide after examining them and books the visit instead. It never diagnoses, prescribes, or improvises a medical answer.
Can patients pay a small advance to hold the slot?
In India, yes. It sends a native in-chat UPI request for a token advance to reserve the slot, with the balance paid at the clinic. The payment is confirmed by the gateway, not by a screenshot. A held slot with money down shows up far more reliably than a free booking, which is the second lever it pulls against no-shows. Outside India it sends a payment link instead.
Does it actually reply in Hindi, Hinglish, and Tanglish?
Yes. It mirrors however the patient types, whether that is Hinglish (“doctor kal available hai?”), Tanglish, or plain English, and normalises loose spellings. Patients describe symptoms in their own words at odd hours; the bot understands them and routes them to the right slot without making them switch to formal English.
Do I still need a front desk to run this?
Not for the repetitive load. It answers the after-hours and overflow enquiries, the “kitni fees hai”, “kaunse din khula hai”, “kya aap ye treatment karte ho” questions, and books them, so your staff spend their time on the patients physically at the clinic. For anything sensitive it hands the chat to a human on your team.
